There are plug-ins for image enhancement, yet Linocolor's Color Assistant
will do this better in most cases. What are the problems you see in negative
scanning in Linocolor? What scanner?
IF you are on a high end Heidelberg scanner , the best enhancement to
manipulate and better control rgb images is Newcolor 7000 (PC) or Newcolor
7000 2.5 Mac.
The biggest complaint is that the grain becomes excessive. This is avoided
by using no sharpening at all. If you like there is a tutorial on my site
for scanning color negatives in Linocolor 6. The quality is as good or
better than if you make a print and scan the print for high quality repro on
press.

It's not as much a question of the color gamut of reversal paper 5RA4) but
where the cross over curves are placed (CMY) controls at the time of
enlarging. Scanning negs allows expansion of these regions without affecting
overall balance.
