The DDC cable does offer an advantage. It's possible for the software
to make finer adjustments via the cable than it is for the user to
accomplish via the front panel due to the limitations of the
monitor's OSD user interface.
I wouldn't prefer BasICColor over EyeOne for that reason, but it's a
legitimate claim.
