Getting the gray out
Getting the gray out

I am new to colorsync issues and this list. But I am rapidly finding out how
much I will have to know.
I have taken a series of pictures (Olympus C-700) that a greeting card
company was very pleased with. I did a lot of touch up in Photoshop and
things looked just great when I printed them out on my Epson C80 (using
colorsync). I use a Mac, 9.2 and monitor is MitsubishiDiamondPlus91.
So even with this equipment (surely not too high end) I thought I was doing
fine until the printer said everything was coming out gray at his end. We
have calibrated my monitor and sent many variations to the printer, but it's
been problems with the gray cast every time. My Mitsubishi is an old monitor
so it's at 9300, not much I can do about that or things look really weird.
We've had many discussions with the printer but they are farther behind with
the colorsync issues (like zip) and are trying to do this just by eyeballing
it. (I sent them color prints that I did and everyone agrees they are right
on with my equipment.) They are using Scitex and Heidelberg equipment, but
that's all I know about their process.
Where should I begin in getting my files so they work better on their
system. The shots look really good and I could be selling more if I can get
the color problem sorted out better. Many thanks.
