When setting up a Target print for profiling, I am faced with
conflicting published advice as to the color of the backing paper
placed between the print and whatever table work surface in use.
Black or white?
The Help file instructions that appear in Eye-One Match's own
on-screen "Wizard" state:
"The surface should be white to ensure
that the color of the (table) surface does not
interfere with the measurements."
Whereas Eye-One's Color Cook Book "Proof Printing Settings - Adobe
Software" state on page 24:
"Place the test chart print on two or more
sheets of thick black backing."
"Using black backing helps reduce
the brightness of neutral inkjet papers,
producing a closer colorimetric paper
match."
From the same source - Gretag Macbeth - two different suggestions.
Which to use - black or white backing?
