That would depend of what "CMYK space" you mean; yes, press inks
(definitionally) are closer to press profile primaries than other inksets are; on the
other hand a CMYK space of the SolventCMYK type would be a closer match to your
solvent inks... whenever the primaries from one system offer different hues
from those of another system, cross proofing primary color patches can result in
polluted primaries, particularly with a colorimetric match. If the proofing
primaries are sufficiently brighter than the press primaries, then the press
primaries may still be accurately emulated, but may still contain dots of a
different color.
