Grey Balance test

We are a commercial Printer in Texas. When we went ctp we also installed an
Epson 10,000 for our contract color proofing, which we made match our Fuji
color art proofs using Monoco. The match between the Color Art and The Epson
are really close. But the press can't match our Epsons. Everything we print
is too red. The pressroom runs the cyan densities high and drops the magenta
densities really low, just to get close our proofs. So I'm thinking I need
to tweak our Profile for the epson. But before I do that how do I know the
press is printing correctly.
So I created a grey balance test. I gave the press room linear plates and we
ran it to our standard densities. It is really red also. We even tried a
different ink manufacturer and we got the same results.
Should the grey balance match exactly or should it be a little warm?
Seems to me it should match. Am I thinking correctly or am I just dreaming?
If it should match, what do I do next?
Thanks,
Mike Stoker
