Yes, since the post I was responding to did not name the printer by name in
the body of the post, I was responding about a different possible machine, not
the R800, which as a consumer printer does not contain its own microweave
functions in the machine, but requires software implimentation of them, like
the
2200. Whether having previously supported the 2200 softweave will be of direct
assistance in supporting the R800 is the question. Since the R800 is a letter
size printer, and probably will have the short shelf life of other letter/A4
Epsons (typically measured in months, and with single digits) I do not expect
to see many of the serious RIPs supporting it. But when (if?) this technology
leaks into the Pro division, then support will be simple enough for RIPs
offering n-color support currently.
