Thank you once again. Personally I am more interested in accurate readings
of the L* channel and have always been puzzled by the fluctuations that vary
with the RI configured in the colour settings box. I have tried to
anticipate precise densities without actually printing step wedges by
converting files to the RGB or CMYK output profile, ( which thankfully is
still possible in CS2) and using the info palette to read the lab values.
Absolute always indicates a change in brightness.
Would you say that these brightness values that I read with Absolute should
be more accurate than those displayed using relative?
