Scott,
Facing the machine from the front, the lever is clearly to the right side.
So, in other words the device IS filtering out the UV light. So "excluded"
refers to the UV light, NOT the filter itself?

You are right...mine too came with the UV in the OFF position. I was
recently referencing something in the user manual and I misread the details
about the UV switch. It clearly stated that the machine comes with the UV
"excluded". But for some reason, my eyes were reading "included".
This seems odd. I think there might be some (understandable) confusion about
XRite's UVexcluded and UVincluded terminology. UVexcluded means the UV
filter is in front of the spectro and the device is taking measurements that
exclude UV information. UVincluded means the filter is OFF (not n front of
the spectro) and the measurement data includes UV information. That's why I
asked you if the lever was to right or to the left - that's the only way I
know to talk about the DTP70 that breaks through the confusion. In which
position (left or right) is your UV filter lever?
If the manual says it comes in the UV excluded position that means the lever
is to the right with the UV filter engaged and it is generating data that
excludes UV information. Does this make sense?
