Hello All,
I have put together a test image to test the performance of
DeviceLink profiles:
The test I have chosen is an everyday photographers situation:
I have images in ECI RGB v2, which is a common working space here in
europe.
The images shall be printed on an Epson Stylus Pro 4800, which I made
a custom RGB profile for.
The profile quality is good, as the printer can match the fogra
mediawedge with tight tolerances.
Now what you can try out: convert the image using the perceptual
rendering intent,
the relative colorimetric rendering intent and the provided
DeviceLink and see for yourself.
Note that you can observe the same for al lot of RGB -> CMYK
conversions in printing workflows,
but I have chosen the photographers RGB -> RGB workflow with intent
here.

So most transforms using DeviceLinks are much superior
to traditional "normal" profile conversions.

Much superior? On paper I guess that's so. Anyone have actual
examples that this is the case?
