Good luck getting anything useful out of X-Rite.
I Emailed support recently about my Spectrolino because it was acting funny
while trying to read an LCD screen. The brightness needle was bouncing all
over the place.
It took almost two weeks to get a reply and only after I badgered them.
The reply was interesting... I was told that I should put the polarizing
filter on the Spectrolino because "that's what it was made for". When I
corrected the guy about the real motives for Gretag including the POL filter
and adding that LCDs use polarization to display an image and them went on
to describe what happens when you marry up two polarizing filter he tried to
tell me that his information came from an ex- Gretag employee. Yeah right.
So good luck getting a reply from the boys at X-Rite... but don't count on
the information being of any use. I'd say their World Domination Tour is
going to their heads.
Oh... I fixed the Spectrolino by updating the firmware. No thanks to
X-Rite.
