In ACR/LR, there ARE profiles that are camera specific. They are
selected and used based on the camera type detected. That's to
correct your first point about there are no camera model specific

??? I never said that; quite to the contrary, that's what I assumed.
Adobe recently updated some profiles that are an optional download.
I provided the URL.
OK. Turns out that I did indeed download this package, but the
prominent part to me was the profile editor (I could not have tested
this editor without downloading it before ;-) )
IF you did your research on Adobe products, you'd know this.
Sorry Andrew, but that's really not how it works. If I spent my time
with doing research on each of the many software packages that are
included in a comparative review, it would take far too much time
that's really needed for the actual testing. It's the job of the PR
departments to provide me with current and complete software versions.
I'm still doing research on other aspects of the software I test, but
I must be able to rely on the PR departments for the basics. If they
don't do their job, it's to the detriment of their own company, so why
should they?
the new DNG Profile Editor which also provides the ability to shoot
a Macbeth and easily build a custom set (or individual) profile.
In the summary of my review, that you apparently didn't read, I
described that I also tried the new DNG Profile Editor (with the
ColorChecker target) and reported the results.
What's clear to me is that while you seem to have a bias towards
Adobe and their profiles, you know very little about the product(s)
or the tools provided.
You should be aware that this review was primarily about profiling
software, *not* about Adobe products.
