I just get a mail from them: I think their online support system is
alive and well. There's an update of ProofMaster dated as 1st of
March, 2009, too. I'm sure they're working as usual.

Has anyone been able to contact PerfectProof?
I've been needing to get support, and also even buy an upgrade but my
messages to them go unanswered.
Their web site is still there, although the support area seems to be
gone. This is quite disconcerting that they don't respond even to
sales inquiries.

Hi Roger,
It is of course recommended to send back to X-Rite every year or so,
BUT that would probably cost more than you paid! I believe it is often
OK to purchase a new Calibration strip every year or so instead for
about #50 GBP, maybe US$75. This will be measured by X-Rite on a
master instrument at about 22 points along the spectrum for white. You
get a CD with the new data which you download to the DTP41 using
Toolcrib, which I can't get to work with my Intel Mac in Leopard, but
works fine with PPC and Tiger. If it is a serial device (not USB) it
may be temperamental on Mac and PC using various varieties of serial
adaptors (Keyspan vs unbranded Chinese) and applications, and
different OS, software updates.
Apparently the daily calibration is very comprehensive.
If you have two units you could, maybe use the same cal strip for
both? You could test them with spot-readings using Toolcrib in
"Terminal" mode.
Best regards
Phil Cruse

Hi Peter,

The ATI Radeon HD 4870 spec[1] claims
- "Full 30-bit display processing"
- "Two integrated dual-link DVI display outputs
Each supports 18-, 24-, and 30-bit digital displays at all resolutions
up to 1920x1200 (single-link DVI) or 2560x1600 (dual-link DVI)"
(whereas I can't imagine how to get 30 bit through single link DVI)
- "Two integrated 400 MHz 30-bit RAMDACs"
- "DisplayPort output support
24- and 30-bit displays at all resolutions up to 2560x1600"
i.e. there seems to be at least /hardware/ support for 30 bit color on
all interfaces (DisplayPort as well as DVI and analog) with this
graphics card -- but what about the software (OS, Drivers, Applications)?
And how do I connect my HP Dreamcolor (with ordinary DisplayPort) to the
Mac Pro MiniDisplayPort?
