Discussion of ColorSync on this list has never been of much interest before.
Where was the interest last year when ColorSync Scripting bit the dust or when Image Capture Scripting was killed off in 2005?
Both were a PITA for AppleScripters and, as I pointed out at the time, represented OS-native capabilities relating to the conversion of images and handling of profiles getting dumped.
Talking as a scripter, ColorSync provides little more than a method of listing the profiles that a user has loaded. Every other task is more dependably carried out by bundling useful stuff like Graeme's Argyll tools.
Nathan has said all there is to say on ColorSync, so let's get back to normal service of general chatter about colour management and the very occasional interesting discussion buried beneath colour management consultants bigging themselves (and their NDAs) up.
