Dumped? Moved. Those abilities were added to /usr/bin/sips. Take a look at the ColorSync AppleScript apps in /Library/Scripts/ColorSync. Not only do they work as tools, they're editable so you can open them in Script Editor to see how they call sips from Applescript. And if you want to just call sips from the command line they show that too. The only thing you can't do that you used to be able to is setting a display's profile. That's it, and I've never found a practical need for that.

Wow that's going way back. Those were image resampling routines that were added to /usr/bin/sips.
