We also "can't do" converting an image using a device link profile. Nor can we get access to other useful ColorSync Utility features like being able to get input/output colour values from profiles -- which you'd normally expect or be able to hack from a half descent scripting dictionary.
I think that using the term "move" to describe the removal of *all* AppleScript features and their replacement via "do shell script" is stretching things a bit.
