Well it may be neither. When I print from ACPU, its still the Apple OS, its still the Epson driver. It works perfectly.
What we see here are kludge fixes upon fixes. Adobe has ‘fixed’ something in the driver in terms of using ColorSync in Color Matching. In that respect, you might believe the issue is Epson. Or...
I might try using ColorSync in i1P, then use the old null profile trick. That is, Assign Adobe RGB to my targets, select Adobe RGB in the profile popup menu in the driver. That works in Photoshop too.
Part of this might be us users who’ve always believed we need to send untagged data in the form of targets. Assigning Adobe RGB and selecting Adobe RGB when a profile has to be selected works, at least in some applications. Now one can argue you should be able to pass the data through without jumping through all these hoops. I only care about having a consistent method of printing the targets and ending up with a profile I can use in various applications.
