The user reports that /Library/Audio/PlugIns/HAL contains:
iSightAudio.plugin
DVCPROHDAudio.plugin
Additionally, he tried removing DVCPROHDAudio.plugin and restarting.
With DVCPROHDAudio.plugin removed the freeze no longer occurs.

A user tested this last night by doing a clean install on a Mac
Mini. With the fresh install, the freeze did not appear.
Then he installed Soundtrack only from the Final Cut Studio 5.1
install, and the freeze appeared.
