Does anyone know if there are any /really/ high-level,

Csound! It is used (I have recently learned) in a number of games, and
it seems some commercial audio/music apps (even quite well known ones)
are dependent on it, certainly for audio development, if not indeed in
the final product. The opcodes therein are (apparently...) inspiring the
work of many major audio software companies who would never admit to it
publicly. Their developers all have the Csound book on their desks.
(So I am told..).
