Merle,

I am seeing this problem on my PPC PowerBook 15 - just like yours.

I have checked the the Font Path and its is as you reported on your Intel machine. The Macports Xterm defaults file is identical to that in 2.1.3. It looks like a problem in the PPC compilation.

John,

I was trying the xterm tectronics pane testing on an Intel Mac Pro.
Interestingly, then I try the same thing on a PPC PowerBook 15, I get
the open squares instead of characters as you described.  I'm not sure
why they are giving two different answers (I don't have a third system
to to see other trends).

So, are you on PPC or Intel?

Merle
