The one that came with my iMac is the best mouse I've ever had. The
learning cure was painless (as with all Mac stuff) and it "just
works". Of course, I don't require any special work, and sometimes
tend to use keyboard commands more than the mouse. <GRIN>

Yeah, that's the downside. It's an optical mouse, but you've just
traded the traditional mouseball for the trackball, which is if
anything more easily clogged (though less exposed to dust etc). It
also took some getting used to the lack of a tactile division between
buttons one and two - for a while I would consistently left-click when
I meant to right-click.
