Upgrading is always good, but I don't think that 1.2 contains any major
bug fixes for CVS over 1.1 (check the release notes).

Do you get any errors in the log portion of the CVS panel (hidden under
the lower split view divider)?

Another thing to check is that if your SSH setup is correct, you should
be able to do CVS operations on the command line without having to
enter any passphrases or passwords. If this isn't true for your
environment, then that would probably cause problems for Xcode.
