I upgraded 3.0 -> 3.1.1 a couple of days ago, and was surprised to find that Tools/uninstall-devtools.pl was MIA. Looks to me like they really, really mean it.

M'h. I still find /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools, which seems to be a Perl script for a whole family of uninstallers.

Ah! They moved it. It used to be in /Developer/Tools/.

Of course, an upgradeable product might still benefit from tools for the separate task of uninstalling. So my really-really-mean-it question still stands.

Seems to me that uninstalling would be the best plan, given that the installer won't delete what's already there. For instance, confusion resulted when Xcode replaced Project Builder - since the installer didn't delete Project Builder.app, some folks kept trying to use it - obviously, with mixed results.

At the very least, I can't imagine that running the uninstaller would do any *harm* - better safe than sorry, IMHO.
