I see that.  Are you using C++?  There is a performance regression from
10.5/3.1 to 10.6/3.2 where building some C++ files will use huge amounts
of RAM.  This is worsened by having many cores compiling many files.  My
workaround was to buy 16 GB of RAM, now it builds almost as fast in
10.5.  :(  Or you can turn off cores.
