You must quit and restart the simulator when you remove the data inside that folder or that folder now. Back on Xcode 3 and 4, you could just remove something and it would instantly disappear from the sim, but that led to bugs that could lock up the simulator. So they made it to where you had to quit the sim to see changes. I imagine once it’s restarted, it would recreate that folder with the default apps in it.
