What do do with my life?

Hey All,
I would like advice/opinions on what direction to head with my life. I have
been doing Java Swing work for about 11 months now. Before that I worked on
DOS based C++ applications and a little Windows work (mostly maintaining
existing code)
I like Macs and OS X and have done some 4D work and very little C on OS 9.
I am interested in learning more about Carbon and Cocoa programming, but it
seems that there are not many jobs out there for Macintosh Programmers, at
least for beginning programmers, even though I have experience on other
platforms.
But I know mac programmers that are switching to Windows b/c hey feel that
the mac platform is dead and there are no jobs, etc
So I would like the advice of others. Where should I focus my efforts? I
need to feed my family. I would like to stay on Macs, but by now you get
what I am asking about.
Sorry, not trying to start a war, etc, would just appreciate adivce.
