God rest his sole, Bruce Fraser used to kid about the Event Horizon on the

I'd sure like to see display manufacturers and those calibrating these
displays provide more functionary to do this. I still build various contrast
ratio target calibrations using the Sony Artisan to better soft proof images
based on the output contrast ratio. We're seeing what I think is inflated
spec's for LCD contrast ratio's that far, far exceed anything we can print.
More interesting to me would be the ability to switch on the fly these
settings as I can currently do on a 20th century CRT.
