:) Derrick, I am very confident in my proofer's profile. It's not the profile that causes the blue to lean to magenta, it's just the nature of the beast. as for the monitor profile, I never edit the profile . . . I just make adjustments on top of the profile in CN; adjustments that are stored within the CN app and do not affect the profile's curves. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ vanita cyril color management shoot digital new york, ny 212.353.3330 On Jan 26, 2007, at 12:16 PM, Derrick Brown wrote: Hi,
I appreciate what you are attempting to accomplish but before doing the monitor profile editing are you confident that your proofer profile is doing what it is being told to do? All applications you have mentioned allow you to toggle between different monitor calibration conditions.
for example if you create a set of LAB "problem colors" in PS and convert to your proofer profile and print then actually measure them, are they in fact what you sent?
thanks On Jan 26, 2007, at 11:50 AM, Vanita Cyril wrote: CN offers the option to make adjustments on top of your calibration for hue and saturation. We find this is quite helpful for retouchers (who are new or freelancing) since the Kodak really can't hit a clean shade of blue even though based on what's on screen that's what's expected. The saturated Blues lean towards Magenta. Also, yellows are much more saturated on screen then they are in print. Then there's the fact that we print to multiple paper stocks, and CN allows you to toggle between profiles and have multiple profiles. I'm just wondering if basICColor or ColorEyes Display Pro can do this too.
