Profiles derived from the original CC can be very useful, depending on the
application. I'll never forget making camera profiles, once, for a
photographer who was shooting electric appliances. We were using the old
ColorSynergy DC profiles then : colorimetry was perfect. But the same
profiles applied to anything else didn't produce the same kinds of exacting
results.
