Hello:
After this statement of principles want to make again the same
question than in LinkedIn ICC Group, that there is not a document that
can be reviewed and updated that contains the procedures, with
flowcharts if you want, from capture to output.
At this moment, except for a pair of spanish books, I can find more
traceable information in the BabelColor CT&A user manual, the
procedure described by Rags Gardner on ACR Calibration Script for
capture color targets for profiling, and get the best performance of
i1 Display and i1Pro with Dispcal, and GaMapICC for color conversions,
both known GUI from ArgyllCMS. Sure many of us have tested Andrew
Stawowczyk Long's Color Camera Calibrator too.
And yes, there are many documents at the ICC site, but sometimes seems
like asumes more than the previous "statement of principles" having in
mind that are strictly science papers. After three years of self
taught I can read, understand and apply 80%, but is fustrating for
initation.
The question is, will I say any day that mine or others procedures can
be certified under ISO 9001?. And not only FOGRA Certified.
FograCert is the name of the modular testing programme reaching from
e.g. dampening solution to softproofing systems. All of those
programmers test (certify) against a defined procedure (mostly an ISO
standard) by using rigorous methods. For instance the certification of
validation printing systems contains the (informative) test of PDF/X
compliance. Here we use (among others) all elements of the Altona test
suite and the PDF/X ready (including the Kensington test suite
elements). So which of the "references" you are (implicitly)
criticizing by saying "And not only FOGRA Certified."?
