They're just Windows junkies who can't get used to the idea that
Apple is the new Honda/Toyota to Microsoft's General Motors!
(And they used to tell us that it was all VHS vs. BetaMax... ha!)
Ooo, that's a low blow. Windows just makes me feel sullied :-) I
am proud to say the only generic PC I own is running Linux and
powers my PVR. Every other machine in my home and business is a Mac.
Heh, I think it was William J. Strunk, cited by E. B. White in
White's preface to the second edition of _The_Elements_Of_Style_,
who said, "If you don't know how to pronounce a word, say it
loudly." on the assumption that someone will hear you and correct
you so you won't go through life mumbling your mispronunciation.
You have corrected my mis-assumption (vs. my mis-pronunciation) and
I shan't shout such libelous words in your direction again.
I'm truly sorry, David, for categorizing you in that scurrilous
group of WinTel... (Oops, don't want to be too politically
incorrect, now that Intel is the RIGHT computer and the PowerPC has
always been the WRONG computer.)
I'm still waiting for Apple Windows 2010. :-P
...Windows users to which Chuck belongs. You deserved better. :-(
You're thinking of the old Chuck. I've been to rehab and found
religion.
Worse yet, now that you've caught me out, I find myself sitting in
my office not 20 feet away from an old 386 box that still runs DOS.
I dragged it up from the basement to try to read some old 5 1/4"
unix diskettes with an ancient version of the MKS Toolkit. That
didn't work, but I keep hoping I'll find the time to install Linux
on it so I can read those old diskettes before it and they crumble.
The other 9 computers in my home/office are all Macs.
Yeah, yeah. Only use it on weekends blah blah blah. The next think
you know...
