I second that. I would add that I have been working with a MB for a while, and even with spaces the 13.3" display is very very small. Don't know if you share that experience, but I usually need the debugger, a couple of edit windows and my app's window, and I would love to have a couple of extra pixels.
I'm also considering the choice 15" vs 17" (and forget the MB because of the display size and missing FW). Mobility against pixels... For me this is really a point to consider.

I also would like to know if 4 MB are enough if you have a virtalization app, be VirtualBox or VMWare or Parallels running along with Xcode (only thing I know for sure: 2 MB are not).

Jesse,
I am not sure why. But for me, I need a FireWire interface for a fast interface and the Express/34 for my eSata drive and the MacBook does not have those features. Now, it is possible that people are concerned about the graphics adapter not being as powerful as the MBP. This could be a problem.

Taking this thread back to it's original topic:
Is there any particular reason not to use a MacBook? I find that 2.4GHz is 2.4GHz whether 13" or 15" the differences between 2.4, 2.5, and 2.66 are trivial at best. And I find the MacBook is even more "mobile" than the 15" MBP (obviously for size).
Just wondering if there is some major turn-off that puts MacBooks out of the thought process.
Also: it is an "undocumented" feature that a late generation (Late 2008, with the model code of 3,1 or 4,1) MacBook can handle 6GB of RAM. I would assume this carries over into the MBP line, but obviously we can't be sure without having someone who has actually done it.
