I've just confirmed that I can't reproduce the bug, no matter what I
select in the project tree (smart groups, targets, files, dependent
projects etc I've tried everything).
Well, since this is reproducible all the time with all my projects, I
guess there was some misunderstanding somewhere.
1. Close the detail view completely.
2. Disclose the Targets smart group.
3. Select a target in the Targets smart group.
For me this always opens the detail view.
I guess this is a feature so that we won't forget there *is* a detail
view, in case we keep it always closed (1). But IMHO that's just aan
attempt to patch an inadequate user interface.
(1) I was actually bitten by this in Xcode 1.2 when I wouldn't find
where to change the scope of header files in a framework, cause I
didn't look inside the detail view pane - and that seems to be the only
place to find this information.
