I've just confirmed that I can't reproduce the bug, no matter what I select in the project tree (smart groups, targets, files, dependent projects etc I've tried everything).

Well, since this is reproducible all the time with all my projects, I guess there was some misunderstanding somewhere.

1. Close the detail view completely.
2. Disclose the Targets smart group.
3. Select a target in the Targets smart group.

For me this always opens the detail view.

Me too. It looks especially peculiar because the detail view doesn't even load its data until I click on it.

I guess this is a feature so that we won't forget there *is* a detail view, in case we keep it always closed (1). But IMHO that's just aan attempt to patch an inadequate user interface.

I'd certainly like to forget that there's a detail view. I've *never* used it. I'm not happy about the fact that the split view divider can't be hidden (as it could in 1.1), and wastes 9 pixels of editor space. Having the detail view launch a full-scale invasion every time I examine a target is thoroughly annoying.
