Hmm,
I was pretty much decided on getting a 2.4 Macbook for development work. Regularly using TextMate, XCode, and Interface Builder. To make the best use of the screen, then you should really have MegaZoomer installed. Unforunately in the case of XCode 3 it still isn't a proper cocoa app and therefore MegaZoomer is unable to work with it. Interface Builder will work however, and so will TextMate.
For some reason I found myself slightly put-off by the looks of the Macbook Pro. Particularly the speaker grills which seem kinda cheap-looking when you consider how they could have been easily made to look good. Also there are certain hardware issue(s) that have been reported for the new MacBook Pro which are not present on the MacBook. Finally the extra weight would put me off unless can be translated into a longer battery life.
On the flipside I own neither of these products yet and dont feel entirely sure whether I'm making the right decision in the long run. I have played around with a MacBook and MacBook pro, and while the MacBook had a smaller - looking screen, I didn't know whether it was because they were right next to each other or that 13.3" would be **too** small in daily use ?
Hi, I'm sure that if you look hard enough, you'll find hardware rumors about the MacBook. People tend to see what they want to see to justify their actions in the decision making process. In short, please don't make assumptions and go on hearsay.
