What sort of diagnostic analysis would be helpful and how do I obtain it? I've only used Activity Monitor to watch my memory/cpu usage live. If I can get something together, I'll file a bug report with as detailed of a description as I can.

Select Xcode, click the "Sample Process" button in the toolbar, switch to Xcode and type. If the problem is reproducing, then when the sample completes you can attach it to a Radar bug.

ITYM "Launch Activity Monitor, click the 'Sample Process' button in its toolbar,..."
